Anchor Point
Killer Point
Named after the killer whales once spotted nearby, this wave works best in winter months with a solid swell. It’s a long, powerful right-hand point break with deep water take-offs and a mix of walls and barrels. Access is by paddling from the cliffs, which can be challenging. Best for advanced surfers due to its size and power.
Mysteries
La Source
La Source is a fun, A-frame reef break offering both lefts and rights, working best in mid-winter swells. The wave is punchy but more mellow compared to nearby spots. It’s ideal when the bigger breaks are too heavy. Suitable for intermediate surfers.
Panoramas
Banana Point
Located near Tamraght, Banana Point is a soft, slow right-hand point break. It works best in winter, especially with smaller swells. The wave is long, friendly, and forgiving — ideal for learning to turn. Excellent for beginners to low intermediates.
Devil’s Rock
This is a beach break with occasional reef sections, located just south of Taghazout. It works in winter, offering playful lefts and rights depending on sandbanks and swell. The atmosphere is relaxed and the lineup usually mixed. Great for all levels, including surf schools.
Crocs (Crocodile Beach)
Named after the rock shaped like a crocodile, Crocs is a sandy beach break perfect for learners. It works best during winter swells and at mid to high tide. The wave is soft and rolling with plenty of space for surf lessons. Ideal for beginners.

Mornings often bring clean, offshore conditions (ideal for scoring perfect waves) while the afternoons tend to get windier.

The best time to surf Taghazout is between September and April, when the Atlantic swell is most consistent and the waves are at their best.

During this peak surf season, you can expect water temperatures ranging from 18°C to 22°C, so wearing a wetsuit is recommended.
